Who is Haley Joel Osment?

Haley Joel Osment is an American actor, best known for his roles in The Sixth Sense, Artificial Intelligence, and Forest Gump. The majority of Osment’s success was enjoyed during the mid-90’s when he was just a youth. His witty and infectious personality captivated audiences and his grasp for acting was prodigy-like at a very young age. On July 20, 2006, former Oscar Winner, Haley Joel Osment was involved in a single-driver car accident, when he struck a brick mailbox and flipped his car while driving near his home. The accident resulted in various injuries, including broker ribs, numerous abrasions, cuts and a fractured right shoulder blade. The accident sent shockwaves through the Hollywood community, as Osment pleaded no contest to one count each of driving under the influence of alcohol and drug possession on October 19, 2006.

For these misdemeanors, Haley Joel Osment was sentenced to three years’ probation, a fine of $1,500, minimum requirements of 26 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings (over a six month period) and a mandatory 60 hour stint in an alcoholic education and rehabilitation program. Following the arrest, Haley Joel Osment was embarrassed and vowed to quit drinking, as well as any sort of drug use. This promise seems to have stuck, for Haley Joel Osment is finding success on Broadway in his mid-20s.

Osment is currently enrolled at New York University where he lives a seemingly routine life, save for the fact that the actor is starring in a Broadway play.
